The space
The property is 111.5 square metres in size (1200 square foot), and is spread over four floors, all linked by an attractive spiral staircase.

The master bedroom on the top floor has a king size bed, dressing table, wardrobe and bedside table, and boasts a view of the famous Chapel of St John's College - one of the most recognisable buildings in Cambridge.

The stylish first floor living room is perfect for unwinding after a busy day of sightseeing. With it's own Juliet balcony, overlooking the intersection between Portugal Street, Portugal Place, and New Park Street, the living room contains a 55" smart TV, several coffee tables, and two large sofas - one of which opens out as a comfortable double sofa bed.

The ground floor dining room is modern and spacious, with a large extendable dining table and six chairs. The kitchen has recently been replaced, with brand new units and appliances throughout.

There is a large twin bedroom on the bottom floor, with two full size single beds, a dressing table and plenty of storage.

The property also offers two luxurious shower rooms - one on the top floor, and one in the basement, each furnished with a large shower enclosure (with dual shower head), as well as a sink, vanity unit and a toilet.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, along with a smart heating system to keep all of the rooms at a comfortable temperature.

Parking is provided via an on-site garage to the rear of the development. The garage door opening has minimum dimensions of 204cm (width) x 192cm (height), and internally the garage measures 254cm (width) x 465cm (length).
Guest access
Parking for a small to medium sized car is provided via an on-site garage. The dimensions of the garage are shown on the floorplan included amongst the photos, so please check your vehicle will fit before booking.
Additional notes
Please note, a standard UK king size mattress measures 5’ x 6’3” (150 x 190cm), which is slightly smaller than a US king size mattress. The single mattresses in the twin room are also standard UK size, and measure 3'0'' x 6'3'' 90 x 190 cm.

Neighborhood overview
Built on land once owned by St John's College, Varsity Place is a modern development in a prime location.

The house is adjacent to Jesus Green, an oasis of calm in the heart of Cambridge's historic city centre - and only 100 yards from the famous Varsity Hotel & Spa.

A leisurely three minute stroll along New Park Road brings you to the Quayside, where you can hire a punt - complete with a chauffeur who will double as an entertaining tour guide! From the River Cam, you can view some of the most celebrated sights in Cambridge, including Clare College, The Bridge of Sighs, Mathematical Bridge, Queens College, and Kings College.

It takes eight minutes to wander south from Portugal Street to the cobbled market place, where you will always find something special - from fine cheese, vintage clothes and quirky gifts to fresh coffee beans, photographs, books and paintings.

If you are into shopping, you will certainly enjoy the abundance of boutiques, independent shops, high street brands and designer labels.
Getting around
Cambridge is a compact city with a relatively flat landscape, so it is easy to explore on foot.

The city is also synonymous with cycling - roads and streets are brimming with students, locals and visitors on their daily travels in and around the city.

With over 80 miles of cycle lanes and routes providing a traffic-free method of travel throughout the city, whilst cutting down on your carbon footprint, there is no better way to get around, than on two wheels.

Cambridge has a wealth of cycle hire shops with rentals from just £5 a day.
